At KaleidoKidz we focus on learning support. Learning support involves individual assistance with perceptual skills that have not yet been mastered.
Perceptual skills play a vital role in learning, aiding individuals in developing and refining their cognitive abilities and sensory processing. Visual Perceptual skills involve interpreting and making sense of visual information, such as: Visual Closure, Visual Discrimination, Visual Analysis and Synthesis, Visual Discrimination, Visual Foreground-Background, and Visual Sequencing and Memory. Auditory Perceptual Skills encompass processing and understanding auditory stimuli, including Auditory Discrimination, Auditory Sequencing and Memory, Auditory Closure, Auditory Foreground-Background, and Auditory Analysis and Synthesis. Spatial Orientation contribute to body awareness and balance, helping individuals understand their body's position in space and maintain stability. Furthermore, Crossing the Midline and Hand-Eye-Coordination also play an important role in a child’s ability to overcome learning difficulties.
Through tailored exercises, learning support aims to enhance these perceptual skills, ultimately fostering improved learning, motor coordination, and overall functioning in daily activities for a child to reach his/her full potential.
We provide non-clinical learning support focused on strengthening children's perceptual and foundational learning skills. Our evaluations are educational screenings designed to guide parents and help identify areas where a child may need additional support, specifically referring to the foundational perceptual skills. This service does not include diagnosis, school readiness decisions, or any form of clinical therapy. When necessary, we refer families to the appropriate registered professionals for further assessment or intervention.
